Phytochemical Approach Including Total Phenolic and Flavonoid Contents and Evaluation of in vitro ABTS Antioxidant Capacity and Lipoxygenase Inhibition of Anisosciadium lanatum

Anisosciadium lanatum Boiss is commonly known in Bedouins as besbas. Traditional, it palatable plant and used medicine of livestock to treat skin conditions . The main objective current approach was screen the presence different kind metabolites applying standard procedures followed by assessment total phenolic (TPC) flavonoids (TFC) contents. In addition, vitro ABTS antioxidant lipoxygenase activities were evaluated. Different organs (leaves, stems flowers) extracted using 70% methanol yield extracts leaves (TML), (TMS) flowers (TMF). Results demonstrated that TML, TMS TMF are characterized content constituents such flavonoids, phenolics/tannins, steroids, saponins, carbohydrates at levels. Ethyl acetate (EA) butanol (BT) fractions TML highest percentage TPC TFC. results competence EA BT free radical scavenger compared other its opportunity contain bioactive exhibited Lipoxygenase inhibitory activity with IC50 values 4.88, 5.40 6.05 μg/mL, respectively when positive control baicalein (IC50: 0.27 μg /mL). conclusion, present investigation highlighted potential be promising candidate against wide range inflammatory-related diseases.
